Hello, I have a Compaq dc7100 SFF with 3Gb RAM and an Intel Pentium 4 HT 2.99Ghz CPU.

For graphics, I'm using an Ati Radeon HD 6540 1Gb card.

I'm not sure whether this card came out in just a heatsink only variety or with a fan, but I have the heatsink only version. The heatsink is silver.

Anyways, the card seems to be getting unusually warm, and the heatsink is so hot that it can't be touched.

I'm not overclocking or anything.

Can anyone suggest something to help me out here?

i'd like to put in a fan right behind it, as there are two space PCI slots, but I'm not sure whether they make the fans in a small form factor.

I also note that at the end of this card, there is a small brown power inlet, which seems to imply the model came out in a different variant containing a fan already on top of the heat sink.

Does anyone know where i could get one of these?

The main issue with this computer is it is very tight, so I've been thinking of converting it to a mini-tower for some extra room.

Any suggestions or hints on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

So you have a passive heatsink on a old 6540 card. Well the card is more then likely a media range card not for gaming really although It can a little bit. I would say you are fine. In a small case you will run into heat issues without proper cooling if anything what I would suggest is you pick up good air flow fans to push air.
