Hi there,

I have a powercolor radeon HD 7850 (2.gb) video card:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131562

I just got this a couple of weeks ago, and it has been working pretty great up until now (today).
It's pretty quiet, and it was running at about 25 degrees celsius at idle and got upto 50s and 60s when I played games, etc.

So yeah, I was pretty content. BUT...

Today I noticed that my gpu temperatures are WAY above normal.
At idle, right now it's running at 56 degrees, which what it used to be around when playing games.
And I don't even want to try and see what the temps are atm when playing a game.

So what's going!???
I haven't changed anything.
I Have all the drivers installed (except Catalyst center program).
And my other temperatures are normal, as they were. (like cpu still at 27 degrees).
I haven't changed the fans.
My case it pretty good (corsair 600t white).
And I have pretty good cable management.

Please help!!!

Edit:
I also noticed that my gpu fan speed is the same as before, even with this high temperature.
As before, it is running at 33%.

First things first, amd graphics cards are known to run at pretty high temperatures. 50s and 60s are alright considering some gpus easily go to like 90s.
when you were taking the temperature measurements before hand back when it was not as hot, did you take that measurement without giving it time to completely warm up?
Are you running any graphics intensive program or something that might be using your graphics processing power?

-also isn't the catalyst centre program part of the driver of the graphics card? huh?

Yeah I understand that cards can run at pretty high temps, but as I mentioned, these temps aren't normal as they used to be for me. Heck, even my previous old card, HD 4850, with a crappier cooler only ran at about 30-35 degrees at idle.

As for when I took the temps ...
Well, consistently for the past 2 weeks - whether I measured when the PC started up or when I measured after 2 or 3 hours plus into running the pc - the card at idle only ran at 23 to 28 degrees celsius. And today too, I have done the same and measured at start-up and after a proper warm up, and the temp remains at about 56 to 60 degrees.

And finally, no, I am not running any graphics intensive program.
I haven't changed anything, or done anything differently.

Oh and the CC program is usually part of the whole amd driver software, but you have the option to custom install it or not. And I chose not to install it because firstly, it showed the same temps as my current monitoring program (AIDA64). And secondly, I thought I really didn't have a need for it because I don't overclock, etc. But for clarification sake, I did install the video drivers, etc that came along.

I recommend to go check your motherboard manufacture's website regarding bios, since there might be some bios and driver conflict. Overall, there should've been no changes other than the updates on the drivers, so it could simply be something that the amd drivers changed (amd driver supporte isn't that great) or an internal conflict somewhere within the system
