so I'm wondering if I can put a pre-fab GPU watercooler on my 7870 gigabyte OC. (mainly, I'm wondering if the PCB is the same, so I won't have a problem adding in a pre-fab GPU watercooler meant for a reference PCB.

anyways, I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at, so here's a pic of the gigabyte PCB:

and a pic of the asus DirectCU 7870 (which is the reference PCB)

thanks!

Would need an exact part/model number to verify really. What I might suggest http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/ punch in your info and see what pops up. No, you don't have to go with EK product, but it at least is a fast way to to confirm reference build or not.

*edit - I think I made out the Model number from the pic - and verified it is not a reference build - Universal GPU block in order

From the looks of it, and mods I have seen, there are some 7870 full covers that could be used, but slightly modfied to work. Not something I would suggest average person to do

yeah, I'm just looking for a no-mod waterblock. I'm happy with my 7870's performance, so I think I might watercool it before I upgrade... but if it's just too much of a hassle, I'll save it and just upgrade the card when the 8000 series come round (or the 9000, if the 8000s are just OC'd rebrandings)
