HD4890 HDMI Audio Problem

I have currently hooked my pc up to a HDTV. I have a Diamond ATI Radeon HD 4890 Graphics card with the manufacturer dvi to hdmi converter. I run one HDMI cable from the card to my sound system(Sony STR-K700 Variant), then of course from there to the tv. The picture is 100% fine my problem is with the audio. Its not that I dont have audio it's just that the output is constantly at a low volume in other words at max volume i can barely hear it. I am interested to know if anyone could help me fix this problem.

Sounds like the system output volume is simply set too low.

Go into the windows audio properties and check what the output value is set at for the HDMI audio device.
