Hd7890 MSI SETUP/INSTALLATION

Hi guys my msi r7950 has arrived. I done the sitting of the board onto the mobo. Now should i connect power supply to the graphic card?

Mobo: asus P7P55D deluxe

Psu: seasonic 520w

First time using a graphic with power supply plz help

Yes, the card needs the PCIe Power supply from the PSU. Sarting up the rig without the GPU connected to it's power supply can damage both , the mobo and the card.

Its an electrical componant and requires power, the power comes from the PSU not through the connect interface, so you will need 2 x 6pin PCI-e power connectors which that unit does have. The PSU will have PCI-e on it so you cannot mix them up.


If I am not mistaken that Unit will have on a single power thread a 6pin and a 6+2pin so you can just plug in 6+6 and on your way.
