Question Hd7970 post then black screen or restart

i5 10400f
16 gb ddr4
trying to use a amd radeon hd7970 it post but goes black before the windows screen, still does while in bios as well. please help!

update your BIOS of the motherboard

which psu are you using?

most likely defective GPU, you can try baking

or using a more professional way by using a heat gun, resoldering the GPU chip to the board

do you have a secondary screen conected? sometimes happens that the primary screen is the one that you have turned off, so it appears like it does not work.. if you have more details about how it happens or something will be helpfull
