Hi guys so today, i think my hard drive is failing because i bought it 2nd hand with a price of a very cheap(500gb seagate). This is my 2nd hard drive and i encountered corrupt OS every now and then, slow performance/ freezing, BSOD'S, ive seen bad sectors on my hard drive and etc

MY QUESTION IS: Is this the fault of my old and not true rated psu (orion 700 watts, 3 y/old) that killed my cheap and almost new hard drive(second hand worth 30$)?

What advice can you give?
1. SHOULD I BUY A BRAND NEW HARD DRIVE?
2. SHOULD I BUY A NEW PSU THAT CAN SUPPORT THE SPECS OF MY PC ? 500 WATTS CAN SUPPORT MY ENTIRE RIG THO
3. SHOULD I BUY A HARD DRIVE AND PSU?
PS; NEED ASAP I NEED TO FIX MY PC THANKS, HOPE YOU GIVE ME THE MOST BETTER OPTION, ADVICE AND SOLUTION

The last time i checked it it is around 65% and i managed to fix and somehow/maybe remove the bad sectors on it and the health got up to 90% health even though it got up to that health it just keeps bothering me with bsods, hangs, slow downs, corrupt os and files etc.
PS; ICANNOT CHECKED I NOW BECAUSE I CANT TURN ON MY PC BECAUSE I DONT HAVE AN OS NOW PLEASE HELP ME

I can't do that man srsly, even though i dont use hdd health now i can really say that hdd is not working? Can you please answer my question dude, im planning to go to the store tommorrow morning

A second hand Seagate - - I'd say the drive has failed - even brand new Seagate's don't rate very highly in my estimation, I've never had a good one yet, I don't touch them now.

I wouldn't say the PSU is causing this problem, but that's not to say you can forget about the PSU altogether 'cos if it's old, cheap, and poor quality it does need replacing with a good one for the sake of your entire system, but that's a different issue to your hard drive problem in my opinion.

Without any actual diagnostic data I'm afraid nothing can be said about your HDD with any certainty.
It may be bad or it may be perfectly ok and some other problem is there.

I'm not a fortuneteller, dude. 😉

@phillip Corcoran my psu is 3 years old, and maybe the hard drive is failing and i dont need to switch up my psu? Because i think my hard drive is causing me a lot trouble in my pc. Should i get now my hard drive?
Pps: i have new mobo processor a year old ram and a videocard working dine a year old too

@SkyNetRising hey man i dont think hdd health can help a lot but, i have a new mobo, procie, a year old ram together with my v.card so i dont think that my other hard ware is causing me a problem? And also i have seen bad sectors on my hdd which cant be solved so what do you think bro? Should i get a new psu and a hdd? Or a hdd alone?
Pps: i have a 3 years old psu cheap and not true rated tho
