Hello Guys, this is my first time at any forum so hopefully I am not doing anything wrong and doing this right.
My Build
NZXT 340 Elite Case
X99 Deluxe II Motherboard
128 GB Dominator Platinum RAM 3466MHz
2 EVGA Geforce GTX 1080 FTW's in SLI
x61 Kraken Water Cooler
Samsung SSD 1TB (Boot Drive)
Western Digital Black HDD 5TB Secondary Drive (Storage, games etc) (THE CULPRIT)
850w P2 EVGA PSU
Elgato HD60 Pro Capture Card
Windows 10 Pro (Not activated yet)
and soon adding an NZXT hue+ and USB Hub extension to add the rest of the usb 2.0 stuff for the front panel of the case because currently that usb internal connecter is taken up by the X61 Kraken
I have a situation with my PC it is brand new just built it and noticed a few things.
At first PC was not reading the full memory and only getting 96GB asked around re positioned the sticks and now they work well all 128 GB reading
Now I noticed the HDD is having a similar issue shows up randomly in bios and PC on reboots. (Currently on latest BIOS for my MOBO)
Now I don't want to return anything (unless I have to) because I have a lot of work and the PC is running fine but I also am going crazy because having to restart the computer to get lucky and see the drive is slowing down the process.
I have partitioned the drive earlier and run it through various tests and it passed all even the Western Digital and it passed all.
I first noticed this problem when it said "No CD in drive D" something like that. My case has no optical drive!
I had then installed a 8TB back drive and it took place of drive D where the 5TB originally was.
So I disconnected the 8TB thinking that was the problem. Nope
I then thought it was a PSU problem (not enough power to the HDD so it decides to sit it out and all the others turn on) I highly doubt that because the same wire and PSU is running power to the SSD.
My SSD is also showing as P4 on bios and Drive 1
When the HDD finally shows up it takes position of Drive 0.
I don't know what to do to fix this. I reconnected the wires and but haven't changed ports yet so let leave that solution out before I try it and see if it can be fixed without having to open it up.
I also read all the forums here of similar issues but nothing worked for me. I'll be so happy if this is fixed because this is stressing me out and already been out of work for 2 months with a death in the family and just want to get back to work to get my mind off things.
I am wondering if it is maybe a problem with drivers? Motherboard? Ports? Should I get a 1000W PSU? Exchange the HDD? Should I reinstall Windows 10 Pro?
Any help is greatly appreciated
