It would be a nice idea to back up the most important data stored on the drive before you continue the troubleshooting process.
You can start with just testing the drive with WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool:

Another thing you can try is to just attach the drive with different cables to a different port. Make sure that the HDD is making the noise as other components could make it as well.
In case the test fails or you make sure that the HDD is making the abnormal noise after changing the cables and ports, you can contact WD's Support and eventually RMA the drive, if it is under warranty.
