HDD Failing? How to tell?

My computer is running very slowly on boot time. The process in task manager is at 100% and I have uninstalled but nothing. I have a laptop its a hp pavilion g series, model is g7 - 1270ca and product is a1v40ua#abc. The os on it is windows 10 and the hard drive is a Hitachi hts547575a9e384

Would this be my hdd failing ?

There is a nice hard drive testing utility called HDTune. It tests your hard drive block by block. It takes a while for a larger drive. You can run it from within Windows. Be sure to back up any important files to another drive or flash memory stick first.

another way you might be able to tell is if you have any video files stored on your HDD then try to play one to see if it runs smoothly or not
