Couple months ago I had upgraded my computer with new motherboard, ram, cpu, and case. I also reinstalled windows on my hdd since I had a new cpu and transferred back 200 gb of backed up stuff like games. After I had reinstalled windows and downloaded the needed drivers I had not really noticed that my hdd was getting maxed that easily. So fast forward about 4 months and now I am noticing it a lot more because of the games I play. Before I upgraded and reinstalled windows I don't think my hdd would max out like this. Is this caused by from bad settings or is my hdd dying? I have already ran smart and done defragging before and check disk and they all say nothing. Specs Asus Prime P x570, 16 gb ram ddr4 3600, Ryzen 5 3600, 1050ti 4gb and a old ~8 year 1.5 tb hdd. Is there any way to fix the maxing out issue?

how would it work if I buy a 1tb ssd and set it as the boot drive and install windows. What will happen to the windows on the hdd and would it cause issues?
As long as you tell the BIOS that the OS on the SSD is the boot priority, it shouldn't cause any problems and windows will default the old drive to secondary storage.
Can you tell me how to do it? I bought a Samsung (MZ-V7S1T0B/AM) 970 EVO Plus SSD 1TB - M.2. I want to have the ssd as the main drive and move my games and windows? How do I do all of this such as installing windows on the ssd. Do I just unplug the hdd and boot up the computer with the ssd and install windows using my flash drive? I want to keep all my files on my hdd if possible, if not I can back up my stuff and do I install windows on ssd and reformat the hdd? Is it possible to get step by step instructions because this is the first time I am doing this and the first time I have build a computer. Does it matter where I install the m2 on the x570 prime p? There are 2 slots idk which is better.
