I need some help regarding hard drives. I am a bit confused with the ATA, Raid, and Serial ATA stuff. On the motherboard i plan to purchase it says the following under the "storage" title.

South Bridge
-2 x ATA133
-2 x SATA, RAID0, RAID1
Promise R20378 RAID controller
-1xUltraDMA133 supports two hard drives
-2xSerial ATA
-RAID0, RAID1, RAID 0+1

If i buy a 200GB Western Digital ATA-100 will it be compatible? Do i need to buy special EIDE cables or a interface card? I do not understand the ATA, Serial-ATA, and Raid stuff... can anyone help me out?..i know i sound stupid.. but thx for the help.. i appreciate it!

Yeah, the Western Digital is compatable. You will need the 80 wire IDE cable to hook it up. This cable is usually provided with the mobo, but can also be purchased seperately

Abit NF7-S v 2.0
Maxtor 60GB ATA 133 7200RPM
