Issue I'm having is my rig isn't picking up the hdd. My ssd works great though.

Things I've done.

Ive connected it up it shares the pcie power cable with the ssd

Gone on device manager and check for the hdd itself.

I have gone into the bios to see if I needed to activate additional drives but I didn't get far with it other than noticing that the bios isn't recognising the hdd too. Now It showed me the ssd and all the available sata ports but hdd wasn't there... Wasn't sure whether I need to alter a setting but until I knew for sure im not messing with it.

Overall I'm not sure what is the issue whether it's the hdd or me (possibly so) but I'm confident with how I've wired it up.... I believe the answer to it is in the bios but I'm not sure, there wasn't a lot of options and the mobo manual did nothing to help.

Appreciate the time and help anyone could give

The hdd is brand new I purchased it a few months ago and no it's not an m.2, I did see that the mobo disables the port if I use a m.2 but I have an ssd in port one sata and the hdd in sata port 2 but I'm getting nothing from it

1. Has that WD HDD ever worked? Or since it's a new drive it's never functioned, right?

2. Can we assume the HDD is not listed in Device Manager nor Disk Management?

3. Obviously you've checked to ensure the drive is properly, securely connected in the system, right? And you've changed its SATA data cable and also moved it to a different SATA port (connector) in the PC?

4. If possible, install the HDD in another PC (either internally or as a USB external drive) and see if it's detected in that system. If it's not it would appear you're dealing with a defective drive and either should be returned to the vendor for replacement or initiate RMA proceedings with WD.

1. The hdd is brand new and ive never used it so im not sure if it functions

2. No its not

3. Yes ive checked the mounting and connection multiple times... Ive not used a different sata port though so

And i may be able to do that but ive have to check... If not i believe itll be defective but i shall check
