HDD not detected by BIOS

I have recently made my build and have all the hardware connected, ready to go set up the BIOS and then the rest of the drivers on the computer. However, I found that my HDD was not detected at all, and neither was my optical reader (both are the only things connected by a sata cable), but my NVMe M.2 SSD and flashdrive are both seen by the BIOS. I've used different sata cables and made sure that they are connected, and can feel a little heat and vibration coming from the HDD while it's on, so I don't really know what to do now. What can I do to try and fix it so I can boot up my PC?

I have a Gigabyte z270x 7 motherboard, if that helps.

Do you mind quickly walking me through doing that? I'm kinda new to this.

That makes 2 of us lol I dont have an NVME ssd. But it looks like different mobo companies have different ways and options to do it

What version of Windows is it?? Because Win7 doesnt natively support NVME without 2 updates. And you have to slipstream them first to do it

It's Windows 10 I believe. Should I try and find something on Gigabyte's website that has answers as to how I could set that up?

Yes, I have done. Thanks for helping, though!

Yes it is. I'll give it a shot tomorrow (It's kinda late here and I have to get up early tomorrow morning), but I'll let you know how it goes!
