Hello, I have a mint condition Windows 95 computer. The issue i'm having is the PC wont recognize a boot device unless i have a specific keyboard plugged in. This keyboard came with the computer back when it was manufactured, it is an old one that uses a purple PS/2 port.

I am trying to change the keyboard to USB for better performance, as the old keyboard can only press one key at a time.

I even purchased another keyboard with a PS/2 plug, and it still wont recognize a boot device unless i use the original keyboard that came with it.

Any ideas?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Make and model of the retro system you have to work with? As for the boot device, might want to also include the make and model of it in case you've modified it as well. As for your USB driven keyboard, I'm pretty sure that you're going to run into a wall since platforms of that era didn't like USB driven peripherals(mic and keyboard) unless they were certified to work with a Win 95 platform.

Might want to also include links to the peripherals used.
