So I have some old HDD, but some days ago it started crashing very frequently and I decided to buy a new one. I bought WD Solid state hybrid drive, I plugged it in and the PC started fine. I moved my files from the old HDD to the new one. Then I removed the old HDD and left only the new one to install the OS, but when I powered the PC it didn't recognize the new HDD. I tried everything in BIOS, I tried swapping cables, but it still does not power up. I can't hear or feel any noise/vibrations. Then I connected the old HDD and it did work with the same cables I used for the new one. Did the PCB die?

Update your post to include full system hardware specs (include PSU) and OS.

Make and model old HDD? Make and model WD SSD?

Have you tried running the applicable drive diagnostic tools via the drive manufacturer's website?

Be sure that all data is backed up and verified recoverable and readable.

Anything you do could cause data loss.
