I upgraded to a SSD. I did a fresh install of Windows 10 and updated. Now my HDD is not showing in Disk Management or This PC. It is showing in the Bios and I can boot to it. Some mild googling on my issue has shown that this has happened to others and they resolved there issue by just waiting and it worked eventually....I'm wondering if there is a quicker solution than the wait and pray approach.

What I've Done So Far:
Checked SATA Cables (same issue)
Tried a different HDD (both show in bios, but no dice.)

Solution
Welcome to Tom's Hardware, @Blackhawk23x!

Did you unplug the HDD from the system while you were installing the OS onto the SSD? If you haven't done that, make sure you repeat the clean install again, but leave all secondary SATA drives disconnected to avoid the so-called OS confusion. Since the HDD is present in the BIOS and you have tried different cables, maybe you should also check how it would get recognized if you connect it to another SATA port on the motherboard. I'd also advise you to go to Disk Management afterwards and 'Rescan Disks' to see if the drive will pop up then. It would also be really helpful if you post some screenshots from there. If you have access to another PC, check how the HDD will get detected there as...

Another thing that could help is Resetting BIOS, but you will need to re-configure all manual changes in the BIOS interface afterwards. (e.g. SATA mode to AHCI, boot priority, etc.)

Keep me posted with the details.

Thanks for the help!

1 - The first time I installed Windows I left the HDD plugged in and the second and current time I did it with it unplugged.
2 - I tried switching the working port I had the SSD on with the HDD to the same results(SSD/HDD showed in bios but no HDD in Windows.
3 - See images below. Did rescan and nothing showed up
4 - [strike]Going to give the bios reset a try right now and will report results along with doing another rescan after.[/strike] No change after resetting and reconfiguring bios then rescanning.
5 - Attempted to resolve using diskpart (found in a similar thread) no dice. The 5 tb one is and external drive I have plugged in and the 1 tb is my SSD. My 1 TB HDD is not showing.

After following his steps, swapping my disk drive sata cable, and reinstalling drivers I booted it up and it was in Windows. Success!!

Awesome job with the troubleshooting and resolving the issue, @Blackhawk23x!
I'm glad everything works properly now. My last recommendation would be to always make sure you copy the data from your system onto the backup drive that you are using. Make sure you always have duplicates of the files stored in different locations to avoid the potential data loss headaches in the future. And remember that Moving data from your system drive to an external hard drive is not a backup, unless there is already a duplicate of the file on a different drive.

Hope this was helpful, too. Best of luck! :)

Thanks for the help!. I don't really store any files on my computer. It's mostly for gaming, web browsing, and programming. All of which are easily fixed if I lose my data by simply reinstalling.
