HDD-only water loop

Hello, everyone. I don't make a habit of asking for help but I'm having a hard time finding info on this specific topic.

I'm looking to build a RAID/NAS, and I'm exploring the option of making it watercooled. Since the motherboard I'm looking at has an integrated GPU and CPU, and both come with heatsinks, the loop would simply be for the hard drives.

My questions are, with 6 (six) WD Red hard drives...

1. What sort of radiator/fan combo would be necessary to ensure maximum longevity without getting crazy?

2. Would a D5 make any difference over something more economical?

Thanks guys!

HDD's do not need anythings special in the way of cooling, make sure there is airflow over them and not caked in dust, that would be about it.

WD Reds are optimized for a server environment, where you get hundreds of drives packed into tight spaces with tiny little 80mm fans trying their hardest to cool everything. I wouldn't be surprised if you could run the drive in a box full insulation and still be fine.

Oh, well in that case. I'll probably just abandon the idea. The whole shebang was going to be a wallmounted design, but after some sober thoughts the watercooling would make it uncomfortable to have at a higher than floor level.

Thanks.
