I'm new in building a PC and I finished building one yesterday. My components consist of:

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 3

CPU: Intel 4th Gen Pentium G3470

RAM: 8GB DDR3

Graphics Card: EVGA GTX 960

PSU: Antec HCG-520M

When I start it up, the only boot device I can see is my SSD. I intend to install Win 10 using the Optical Drive.

Where did I go wrong?

Solution
If your power supply were to be the culprit, i think you would have to worry more than the Optical drive not working at the moment. Check if the SATA cable is actually working, the one that you are using for your DVD drive. Test with the one that your SSD seems to work with.
Hello Luzleis,

From what I am able to discern from your problem, check your SATA cables and change SATA ports every time you boot up your machine. Also try and see the boot order and change it to have the dvd/cd drive as first priority if you have not done so.

I've tried every SATA ports possible and still only see my SSD as the boot device. I looked up the BIOS, checked the SATA configuration and found that All but one SATA port(SSD) is empty.

I'm pretty sure that I connect everything, including the power supply. But even that, I still cannot use my Optical Drive(it won't open) when I pressed the eject button. Do I need a new PSU?
