Hi there-

I have 2x 2tb WD Caviar Black HDDs in a raid 0. I currently have them hooked up to the Intel Sata 2 ports on my Z77 motherboard. Is there any point to moving them over to the Sata 3 ports? There is an additional issue that those Sata 3 ports are under a Marvell controller which some have criticized for a variety of reasons. (The Intel Sata 3 ports I use for my SSDs).

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,

HDDs cannot spin fast enough to saturate SATA 2 ports, let alone SATA 3 ports.

You will suffer no loss of performance having them connected to the SATA 2 ports.
