This should say, "major caveats". Drive that NEVER fails tells me that I can buy one and use it forever. But that is not the case because the testing is only for a limited period of time. How misleading can the title get.
This is news? I have a couple of HD from 2005 still working happily of course these Days nothing sensitive is on them but they show no issues and run nice and cool, secret to keeping them going is low Temps heat kills HDs especially Mech ones
The 40gb hard drive in my RCA Scenium DVR has been in continuous operation since 2003. The internal 40gb hard drive is spinning 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I use a rca tv conerter box to take the digital TV signal back to analog. The dvr records in analog. The recording are sd quality.
