HDD showing up in BIOS but not Windows (7)

My old 2 TB HDD was making noises, so I called up Dell and had a technician come over and replace it. Unfortunately I wasn't home while the technician replaced it. So now, the new HDD shows up in the BIOS but does not show up my computer. Windows running from my Samsung 840 EVO 120 GB SSD.

I went to Computer Management -> Storage. Found out that the new HDD is online but unallocated.

Can anyone give me steps on how to partition(?)/ allocate it so that it will show up in my computer and be usable? Thanks

Its very simple to do.

1) Right click on the black unallocated part
2) Click new simple volume
3) Follow the on screen instructions to assign the size, name and drive letter
(If you only want one partition leave the size to the default/maximum)
4) Click ok
5) The new drive will show up in explorer with options to 'open files' etc...
6) You are good to go!

Apparently mine doesn't show an option for new volume.

There are only 2 options for new volume which is New Spanned Volume and New Striped Volume but both of them are grey-ed out.
Other options which aren't grey-ed out is Convert to Dynamic Disk, Convert to GPT Disk, Properties and Help

Could you post a screenshot of the right click options?

Have you tried rightclicking right of disk 0? (as where it says 1863.02GB and not the disk 0)

My bad, I was right clicking on the Disk-0 box instead the one next to it which displays the available space and status. Right clicked the right one and now Simple Volume shows up! Followed your steps to format it and now it shows up as you said. Thanks!
