Hello! Yesterday when I was about to download a game from Steam, I noticed that the hard drive I have space on wasnt detected. Then I looked in the file menu and it appears that there is a blue question mark over it and it's name is not displayed. It doesn't appear in the disk management. View: https://imgur.com/a/lXq91Yc

The hard drive is about 5 months old and is a Seagate Barracuda. I've checked all the connections to it.
Does this mean it's dead?

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS.

Include PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition.

First question: do you have all data backed up and verified recoverable and readable?

Be aware that anything you do could cause data loss.

Noted that you checked the connections - do you have any extra power or data cables to swap in?

Drive E:\ - What is Drive D:\ ?

Have you run Seagate's SeaTools diagnostic software?

https://www.seagate.com/support/downloads/seatools/

Look in Reliability History: there may be some related error codes, warnings, or even information events regarding the missing drive.

GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 1070 Dual OC
CPU: Intel Core i7 - 4790K
RAM: HyperX Fury DDR3 16GB (4x4)
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB
HDD: Western Digital Desktop Blue 1TB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB (the drive that this thread is about)
Motherboard: Gigabyte z97x gaming 3

I've got a Corsair CX750M (750w), a few months old, never had any issues before. I do not have the files backed up, but there was only games on it so I do not mind losing the data on it. I'm on Windows 10.

Unfortunately I don't have any spare cables to try with

I tried running the Seagate software but the program wouldn't recognize the drive.

Didn't find anything related to the drive in the Reliability History.

The drive isn't detected in the BIOS

Drive D:\ is my primary game drive while Drive E:\ is my secondary game drive
