HDD to SSD Cloning Issues. Help!

I recently cloned my hard drive (1 Tb) to my new solid-state drive (120 GB). (I only cloned 44gb of data) With the program EaseUS Todo. Everything went great, the computer powered off and I turned it back on and booted from the SSD. When I went into my PC the C Drive, which is the one terabyte hard drive, had the windows logo next to it. The SSD drive (A😉 was in there with all my data on it and there were two system reserve drives in there.

How do I get windows to be recognized on the SSD, and why are there two system reserve drives?

I have never seen a clone go well other than between like devices.

Why do you clone data ?

Here's the normal procedure

1. Unplug HD data cable. Install the SSD connected to SATA 1

2. Install Windows to SSD.... install all MoBo and other hardware drivers from original media.

3. Run windows update the 17 or whatever times it needs to tell ya no more stuff left.

4. Update all HW drivers from websites.

5. Connect old HD.

Agreed do not clone an HDD to a SSD

I had all of my personal data on a backup I just wanted to clone windows and my programs w/o uninstalling windows.

Understood.... not a good idea.

To make the process easier.... I suggest:

1. Put the OS and only the OS on ya SSD.

2. Put all ya Games on a Games Partition, programs on a Programs Partition and Data on a Data Partition of HD.

3. If OS or SSD "goes south" you simply reinstall OS on the SSD, Install Programs over themselves to set up registry settings.....this way all your program customizations and data remain intact.

What you're having is the same problem I had. There is a simple solution, though it will cost you a few $$$. Buy Arconis True Image and use that program to Clone your HDD to the SSD. From trying many MANY programs, that is the only one that will clone a larger HDD to a smaller SSD, keep both drives, and then ALSO set it as a bootable drive that wont have an identity crisis (by changing the letter). After it cloned, all you need to do is set it as first in the boot drive. If you don't want to pay, then a re-install is the only real free option for you... of course, you could always go to the "dark side" and get a hacked version. (*Cough* I know one that works *Cough*).
