Hi.
I recently installed a samsung 840 256gb ssd, but I can't seem to clone my smaller windows drive to it and boot.
I cloned the drive, unplugged the hdd, put in the windows repair disk and tried to run the system repair tool. However, just after I picked language and keyboard settings the disk told me that there was an incorrect version of windows, even though it was 7 64 bit in both cases.
In addition to this I've heard that direct cloning from hdds to ssds is a bad idea, and that I am much better off just reinstalling windows. However, I do like my current windows install, and don't really want to have to re-install the my programs. Do you know anyway to make moving from one windows install to another less painful?
