Hello, I just installed my new sad I got for xmas and I installed Windows 8.1 onto it, I also installed lab drivers for my motherboard.. Then I installed net hear drivers for my wireless internet because I'm not connected to a cable. Then I went to nvidia to download my gpu drivers (Gtx 970) and while installing the drivers I get a black screen. I tried booting to my new ssd again and it loaded up to there the Windows logo is on the screen then I get black screened, same thing happens when I try it with my hold hdd. I really need help figuring out how to login to my computer and get rid of this black screen on boot up... Thanks a lot

Did the computer crash during the driver install or just go black for a few seconds until you panicked and shut it down? If the latter, you corrupted the drivers.

In either case, you can use the install disk to open the advanced startup and enter safe mode. From there, you can uninstall the graphics drivers and reinstall them.

Which install disk? I used the online one version. And no it literally just turns black during the installation I think I've tried reinstalling the os and the nvidia drivers maybe 3 times now going on 4... No hope man I need help so bad

Do I need to install motherboard drivers before the nvidia driver??

I tried booting from my hdd and it only works if I put one vga cable in the onboard mono graphics and the other to the Gtx 970... It's so weird I'm totally lost

I don't understand how the nvidia driver is crashing my comp.. It literally makes no sense I can't even login to my computer because of it it boots to to right before the login screen and blacks out.... 🙁

Are you sure you plugged the cables into the graphics card and not the motherboard?

VGA is a bad sign... Are you by any chance using cheap monitors that don't have DVI/HDMI inputs? It could be that your monitors just don't "understand" the default signal that the card is outputting.

Sir, I've had my pc build for about 9 months and it worked fine with a hdd. Ever since I am trying to add an ssd all this is occurring. They are Asia monitors they were in Amazon for about 150 a piece

So in other words it's probably just a display setting issue due to cheap chinese no-brand monitors that you bought for the price of decent 23" IPS monitors (acer and asus both have decent 23" monitors at that price range).

What you'll need to do is enter safe-mode and make sure the proper monitor settings are set before entering the OS. Most likely the screen resolution is getting set to something the monitors can't handle and they just crap out.

If you have a TV or different monitor (or can connect via HDMI or DVI), try that with one of those monitors also attached. After logging in (you can do that with your eyes closed after all, press windows+p until the tv/other monitor turns on and you can set the proper settings for the cheap ones (remember that windows key+arrow moves applications between monitors)

Ok listen, I don't even care about my new ssd right now I want my pc back to normal.

Ok

So I have to have one of my mo it it's plugged into the gpu and one into the motherboard onboard graphics In order to make one mo it or work... So the second one doesn't even turn on... If illugbkth monitors into the Gtx 970 I'll just get a black screen on boot up.

There's an edit button on the posts for a reason, just edit instead of spamming more posts, it makes it really hard to read.

You'll need to explain things more clearly, you're making less sense as time goes on. Try answering these questions:
1) What are your full system specs?
2) Did you enable integrated graphics in addition to the dedicated graphics?
3) Do your monitors support anything but VGA?
4) Have your monitors ever worked in that exact configuration?
5) Do your monitors work in safe mode?
6) Did you make sure to connect all the power cables (including PCIe)?
