Question HDD with broken system wont let my PC boot when connected

i use my system SSD for everything, then i ran outta space and remembered i have a HDD, unfortunately it wont boot when its connected. i tried setting the boot device as the ssd but it still glitches

what error are you getting when you have the hdd connected?
how old is the hdd? and how long ago it was working?
