Hello people. So recently i got this old PC from a friend of mine and it still run windows XP. On my other PC the hard drive was broken so i said I'd replace the hard drive of the WinXp pc to my pc. So i did. It booted mid way through Windows and then crashed. So I said maybe my Mobo didn't support XP so i upgraded to Win7. Then again it crashed just before the Windows logo animation begun. I run windows diagnostics but nothing. The thing is that the hard drive runs just fine on the WindowsXp pc but not on my pc. I even changed the psu just to see if that's the issue. The hard drive has an ATA cable. Please help I'm lost.

Solution
If you move a drive from a pc (to which is somewhat tied) to another, then you should expect issues. After you do a full backup, format that drive and clean install the OS.
Now, what do you mean by "ATA" cable? Is that drive a ATA (a.k.a. PATA) or SATA? PATA is older; it has 40 pins for data and a 4 big pins for a molex power cable. SATA is the drive with thin plugs, "L" shaped.
If it is a PATA drive, then it might have bad sectors or it is about to fail.

The cable the hard drive uses is indeed a PATA cable, sorry about that. So if I install the OS again but on the other computer it should work, right? I don't thing the PATA pins are not working because they work on the pc my friend gave me. Thank you for your reply.

Thank you so much! I formated the drive and installed the OS again and it now works, thank you!
