I cannot figure out why my monitor isn't allowing 4K @ 60hz.
I'm using an Asus GTX 1070 Strix, both HDMI ports are HDMI 2.0
I'm using the LG 27UD68-W, whose both HDMI ports are said to be HDMI 2.0
Yet in windows and the nvidia control panel, both only allow 30hz max. I also installed my monitor's driver and I've tried two HDMI cables, but that shouldn't matter should it?
SOLVED:
I figured it out rather quickly thanks to some advice on another forum
It turns out my monitor had a specific color mode that had to be enabled to achieve 60hz over HDMI 2.0
I figured it out by reading my monitor's manual.
If you have the same issue, get a hold of your monitor's manual from the product page, and read into the input specifications. From others experience, more of ten than not, it was their screen's fault for not allowing 4K60hz
