hdmi 2.0 to dvid 144hz

I may be upgrading in the future to a gpu that doesnt support duel link dvi, but my monitor requires it. will a hdmi 2.0 to dvi-d be able to do 1080p 144hz?

i'm not sure if hdmi 2.0 is fast enough for 144hz or if it caps at 120hz for 1080p, but if you want a hdmi to dvi-dl adapter, you'll be paying over 100$ because you'll need active adapters and there aren't any from hdmi to dvi-dl. you'll need to get a hdmi to dp, then connect that to a dp to dvi-dl
