Hdmi cable shocked me when i touched it.

Hello, i tried plugging the hdmi cable to my PC and it shocked me when i touched it. Could this damage my pc? and how can i fix it?

Let's hope it was just static electricity (ESD). But yes, ESD can damage the PC. If this continues, see if the machine is plugged into a grounded outlet.

Because i am an idiot i touched the cable again and it din't shock me, then i tried rubbing my hair with a ballon ( same with my shirt ) and then it shocked me good.

So it was just static electricity right? There is no danger on that... right?

False Alarm!!!! I tried it again with a static wristband and it shocked me again!

Static electricity caused from day to day static buildup, while not dangerous for us humans, is highly dangerous for electronics.

An HDMI cable only carries 5 volts, which isn't enough to even notice without a multimeter or your tongue but please don't lick your HDMI cable, so the only thing this could be would be static electricity.

False Alarm!!!! I tried it again with a static wristband and it shocked me again!

Did you ever check to see if your system is plugged into a properly grounded outlet? Are you US based?
