My HP Pavilion dv6 laptop’s HDMI port doesn’t work after I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
If I restore to Windows 7 it works fine.
Can anyone help with a solution?

Solution
damn google, i search for your model and it showed me another. I wasted 20 minutes on wrong PC... but it showed me something

I can't tell what integrated graphics were on your Laptop as it doesn't tell me on the Intel site - https://ark.intel.com/products/49020/Intel-Core-i3-370M-Processor-3M-cache-2-40-GHz-

But I think this still applies -

Older laptops with AMD/Intel 'switchable' graphics trying to upgrade to W10 have big issues. Any 1st or 2nd generation Intel processor with HD2000 or HD3000 (or older HD graphics) are not supported under Win 10 and no matter what AMD graphics is associated with it, will have switchable graphics problems. Intel released a chart making it very clear:

Your CPU isn't on the list on that post...
i guessed it was driver related, did you look at the other 2 links as there might be an answer in those. It seems the loss of hdmi happens on many models of your HP Dv6 when they upgrade to win 10.

Do you know specs of your laptop? there appear to be several varieties of DV6, different CPU and other parts. If I can get that I can try to figure out what driver is best now.

It's an HP Pavilion dv6-3073tx. https://support.hp.com/nz-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-dv6-3000-entertainment-notebook-pc-series/4150017/model/4253386
It's got a quad core Intel Core i3 CPU M370 @ 2.40GHz, 4GB of RAM and 1TB hard drive.
Display adapters are AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series driver version 15.201.151.1008 and Intel HD Graphics Driver Version 8.15.10.2189.
That's me too: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware/hdmi-stopped-working-on-hp-pavilion-dv6-3073tx/205d1b84-c016-4785-8443-4b41ec6bc651
The right driver does not come down via Windows Update.
I wondered if the solution might be with the chipset.

Your CPU isn't on the list on that post and was made 1 year before the oldest PC on that list that doesn't have Win 10 support, so i think the problem is obvious, its drivers that don't exist. I would stay on win 7 and avoid the hassles.

Solution
Thanks for checking.
The AMD card is a Mobility’s Radeon HD 5000 Series alongside Intel HD Graphics.
It is possible to get the HDMI working on 10 as it was previously working.
This problem arose after a clean install of 10 on a new hard drive.
