I think the problem with my GPU is that it's just messed up and I need to get a new one, but I will still explain the problem to see what you guys think because I don't ACTUALLY have an idea.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GPU: MSI Asus GTX 1060 6GB
Mobo: Asus Strix B250F Gaming
Monitor: Asus VS278Q
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Basically what's happening is my DVI/HDMI cord is working perfectly between the GPU and the monitor. But when I switch the HDMI cable from the mobo to the GPU it decides to show "HDMI 1 No Signal" on the screen.

I used to have a problem where when the DVI/HDMI and the HDMI cords were BOTH plugged into the GPU, the monitor would say "no signal", then act as if it was turning on (but stay black), sit like that for about 15 minutes then go back to "no signal" and proceed to never work again until PC was restarted. Even when I plugged the monitor into the motherboard it wouldn't work as it does now. I would have to take the graphics card out completely and then start up the PC with the monitor plugged into the mobo to get any sort of video on my screen. Kind of defeats the purpose of gaming when you can't have your graphics card in to see the game lol.

Could this be a fault from the motherboard being damaged in the GPU slot? Is the graphics card itself faulty at the HDMI port? Perhaps the Monitor doesn't like my graphics card?

Also, I already tried two HDMI cords in both of the HDMI slots but to no avail. The GPU still doesn't work.

Not sure what the problem is but if somebody would like to help me find out that would be awesome. Thanks for your time before hand.

Solution
Make sure integrated graphics is off in the BIOS and make sure its reading the GPU. If you can connect to the MB and get a signal something is wrong there. Usually when a GPU is plugged in and you plug into the MB you should be getting no signal then. If the GPU is plugged in you should ONLY be able to get a signal with the GPU -> monitor.
The Monitor will have 100% nothing to deal with your GPU.

From the sounds of it, it 100% sounds like you got a faulty GTX 1060 with the HDMI port being the problem.

It could also be a problem with the PCI slot, have you tried other PCI X16 slots on the motherboard to see if the problem continues to happen? If it does, then it's the GPU's fault. Nothing to deal with your motherboard or any other component at all.

I'd 100% get it replaced VIA RMAing it or if you really wanna get technical with it, take it apart and test the GPU out around the HDMI area to see what the problem could be.
