HDMI DVI PS3 issues help

Hello,
I just got a HDMI cable and a dvi adapter for my rca tv i put it into my tv and into my ps3 but when i turn on my ps3 it has no sound just video ?

Yeah ....its gota be HDMI to HDMI , the DVI adapter is digital video only, no sound.
