HDMI Monitor loses signal at random intervals, computer restart rarely helps.

The issue first occurred about a week ago, but now happens on a daily basis. When using the computer, after a random time, the Samsung monitor (connected via a miniHDMI/HDMI cable) goes black and a 'No Signal' message appears. Nothing I've tried so far would successfully resolve the issue. Only leaving the computer turned off for a few hours would sometimes make it work again for a certain while, before going black again.

I've tried the following to fix it:

  • ■ Reset the monitor, computer, plug the power cord elsewhere
    ■ Updated graphics card drivers (clean install) and BIOS
    ■ Reset CMOS via battery
    ■ Wiggle the HDMI cable/graphics card for possible weak links
    ■ Changing source and other options on the monitor menu

I've had this setup for several years without any problems, in the last few months however, there would sometimes occur minor screen tears (very brief, sparse horizontal interference-like lines) that would sometimes result in the monitor losing signal for two seconds or so. This led me to suspect a problem with the graphics card, however; I've managed to set up Team viewer to remote connect to the computer now, and when a full signal loss occurs, I can connect to my computer and operate it normally; even run games to a limited extent, therefore I assume the gpu isn't completely bad, if at all. The graphics card runs at around 30°C idle and 60°C under stress, so overheating shouldn't be the issue.

During one of the no-signal periods, I've tried to go under Device Manager via Team viewer and noticed that the computer does not detect my monitor at all. It does recognise the graphics card however.

Here's the DxDiag: http://pastebin.com/x9hHApw3

I've yet to try replacing the HDMI cable, replace the monitor and the graphics card; but I would like to avoid making any investments if possible until I can find the culprit.

Thank you for your help!
I will update this post if I think of any more details

EDIT 1: It happened again, I find no relevant info under Event Viewer>System
EDIT 2: I've managed to borrow another monitor (LG) which has a DVI slot (my Samsung does not have a DVI slot), the display works with this monitor.
