HDMI Not Working On My LG ips235 Monitor

Hello, I just purchased an ips235 monitor, and I have been able to get the VGA cable working. However when I try and hook up the HDMI cable I get a message on the screen that says HDMI entering power saving mode, and then the monitor power signal blinks and the screen is black. How can I get the HDMI cable to work for this monitor?

What are you attaching the HDMI cable to?
If to your video card, is HDMI enabled?

I am attaching the HDMI cable to my video card. How would I enable HDMI for my video card? I have a Nvidia GTX 570. I have used this graphics card in the past to go from my PC to my TV with HDMI so unless I accidentally disabled it I would think HDMI would be enabled on the video card.

Have you tried to boot up with just the HDMI cable attached to your video card? Teh card should sense that is the connection to use.

So the HDMI cable I was using was not compatible going into my monitor, but it worked going from my video card to my TV. The HDMI cable I was using for my TV worked for going from my graphics card to my monitor. I made some changes and it worked.
