HDMI not working

Hello,
Hello,I have a Samsung tv and a long hdmi cable,I put the hdmi in hdmi 1 at back of tv and then the other end in back of computer, Dell Inspiron One, I want to look at my family pics on tv but it just keeps saying check cable signal, everything else works, blueray,tv and sec door, what did I do wrong or not do at all. Thank you

How long is the cable?
I'm asking this as some HDMI cables do not work properly over five metres or more.

If the cable works with other devices, then perhaps your GPU (Graphics Card) may need to have its driver updated.

List what type of HDMI you are using, what television you have, and other specifications and I'm sure someone can help.
