"HDMI out" to "AV in" (how?)

My TV has an HDMI output
My amplifier (which is connected to the speakers 5.1) has no HDMI input. It only has an AV input and a digital input.
How to connect my TV to the amp? Please help!

You can get a device which will strip the audio off the HDMI signal. It can provide either a coax or optical link. Just search amazon for "HDMI audio extractor"

If your TV doesn't have an HDMI-ARC port then you can't use an audio extractor on it. HDMI are always input only unless marked Audio Return Channel.
If your TV has an optical out use that.
If your TV has a headphone out use that.
If your TV doesn't have any audio outputs you would need to wire a speaker to line level converter to the wires going to the TV speakers to create a line level audio output.

Good point, was thinking of another thread that needed one of these, PC to TV and AMP.
