Question HDMI output problem on GTX 2080 Ti ?

Strange issue, everything works fine as long as the second display is powered on, even when its set to a different input on the amp, but as soon as I turn off the second display, even when the amp it runs through is still powered, the main display starts flicking off and on, like when you unplug the second display cable or update your driver, and it doesn't stop, I've noticed every time it does it, the second display shows, then disappears from nvidia control panel continuously. any ideas are much appreciated, thanks.

Mod edit: Latest Chipset, nvidia drivers, Windows updates etc too.

What amp?

Provide a fuller description of how computer, GPU and video ports used, monitors, "amp", speakers etc. are all physically connected.

Make and model information: monitors, amp, speakers....

Or sketch out a simple diagram and post here via imgur (www.imgur.com).

Have you tried other known working (no flickering) display cables?

The main output goes to my Acer Predator XB2 FHD 240Hz G-Sync 25in Gaming Monitor, the HDMI output goes to a Yamaha RX-V385 AV Receiver which an ARC output that goes to a Sony Bravia 4k OLED KD55 A8F, the speaker on the amp are DTX 150W 8 ohm, there are 4 towers and one center plus a Panasonic sub wolfer.
I have tried other HDMI cables.

Also I was recently told it customary to include the PC build.
