HDMI to DVI-D or DVI-D to HDMI will it work?

hey guys my monitor HP W1707 [1440X900 HDCP capable] has DVI-D female port. i have a HDMI cable [male to male HDMI] i want to connect my PS3 to this monitor using HDMI famale to DVI-D male converter.

i searched on ebay and found that only DVI-D male to HDMI female converter is available [not HDMI female to DVI-D male]. will it work ? i mean. i want hdmi to dvi-d. and sellers are selling only DVI-D to hdmi converters /adaptors

will it work with my LCD if i buy DVI-D to HDMI converter?

DVI-D does not carry sound , only video.
As far as the cable and adapters go there are cables that are DVI-D to HDMI and you don't have the adapter involved.

The monitor needs to be hdcp compatiable to work which mine isnt so in trying to find stuff to make it work
