HDMI to VGA or DVI-I to VGA

I recently bought Zotac Nvidia GTX 1050.
There's no VGA port in this card and my monitor has one(and only) VGA port.
So, while buying the card, they told me to buy a converter and they gave me a 'HDMI to VGA Converter.'
Now , after googling I found 'DVI-I to VGA Converter' doesn't convert any signal, rather, just separates the analog one.So, signal quality doesn't change literally.
But 'HDMI to VGA Converter' will convert Digital to analogue signal and cause a loss to signal quality.
So, is it OK for me to use HDMI to VGA converter or I should get a new DVI-I to VGA? Will I get noticeable difference?

I don't think it makes any difference, its the same thing either way digital signal to analog, display port to vga would work as well. With pascel you need an active adapter that will convert analog to digital, I dont believe the card will do it itself. I linked an active display port to vga below.
