Headphone jack yanked the 3.5mm port on my pc case and now the sound doesn't work.

I got up too fast with the wire trapped on my arm and it yanked out of the 3.5mm port pretty forcefully. Plugging in my headphones has no sound but if I plug my headphones into my mixamp and then plug the mixamp aux cable in my PCs 3.5mm jack there's loud erm.. 'static' and 'popping/crackling' like connecting an electric guitar to an amp. Have I likely to just bust the port? Are they replaceable? Getting a 3.5mm jack for the front of my case sounds impossible without begging the manufacturer. Can I use a usb>3.5mm and the sound quality remain the same? Thanks in advance for your help

Could be, if it was not the common/ground than sound would change on one or the other ear only. Maybe you could plug earphones into another plug on MB like in Rear Speaker connection and switch output to that using SW panel, proper Realtek drivers have that possibility.

Already tried that. however, I've tried again this morning and now the sounds working but I have to force the jack in a dodgy position. Could it be a grounding problem?

Hi, sorry for the late response, I was on holiday. I've tried your advice on plugging my headphones in the back of my PC and now everything works fine :) Looks like I bust the front port, oh well. Thanks so much for your help
