Question headphones not working after installling a gpu

installed a amd hd7470 and now when i put my headphones in my audio jack port no audio come out, its till comming out my tv?

If using Windows, what is the source showing up as in the bottom right of the taskbar (speaker icon) ? It's rather unusual for a graphics card to mess with sound but sometimes installing a monitor with its own audio output can cause this sort of problem. Mine changed to Nvidia HD Sound Output when I connected a new monitor.

Anyhow, if that is the case, you can simply change the output to what it was earlier (motherboard sound card ?) Otherwise, reinstall the audio drivers.

If you go into windows sound settings, you can see exactly which output the card/drivers are using as default and change that to the jack. That puts the jack first, then other things second. Sometimes Jack's are even rendered as disabled when adding video cards, the card insists you use its audio ports as default, not case ports. That can be changed too.

ive tried for 2 days now and no luck, tried 3 different headphones, tried boith jacks on the front of my pc and both jacks on the back, some put audio thru my headphones but all of them dont use my mic/???

Mic is line in. Check the sound settings in windows. Got nothing to do with the hardware.

checekd all sorts of settings,sometimes it detects a mic, but it dosnt say its detecting sound? ivve also tried plugging 2 headphones in at once in each jack, ive tried all sorts, been on this for days as i need headphones for gaming, would a bluetooth headset work easier?
