Question headphones?

hey everyone i am in a little situation where i was looking for getting a new pair og headset where i meet the concept "custom headset" which for those who dont know is a adiofile pair of headphones with f.g. a mod mic on the site.

so i was planing on doing exact that because i have heard that i gives som kind of advantage over your enime because its easier to hear footsteps
so my thought was to get

either of these two pairs but not sure which one would benifits me most (price doesnt matter aslong as we dont get over 1k all inklusive)
first headphones i was looking at

so year thats was what i have fiquried out would be some good options but if you have any thing thats better for especially gaming let me know !!

Well the headphones look good I know that and as far as the dac and the amp I am not familiar with that equipment but it does look nice

I would say the Beyer. I've had Sennheiser (HD555) and they weren't nearly as good sounding, comfortable, or durable as my DT 770 Pro 80 Ohms.

What you are getting is very overkill for gaming use, you can get good directional audio with a $200 or less headphone and $100 of DAC/headphone amp.

Beyerdynamic DT 990 and a Fiio dac/amp in the $100 range is good.

The 660S is frankly on another level. The HD555 is entry level. Your current DT770s would be entry level Mid-Fi. The 660S is truly Hi-Fi by any measure. Between the 660S and 1990 Pro it only comes down to sound signature preference. A majority including myself would likely choose the 660S.

These are only for gaming? I'd look at AKG 712 Pros or the Massdrop x AKG K7XX. The Sennheisers and Beyerdynamics would be better for music but I don't think either equal the AKG's for soundstage. The 660S would probably have superior imaging but a lesser soundstage.

At the end of the day, all that matters is what fits your usage, and anything over $200 USD or equivalent elsewhere is wasted money if you're just talking compressed game audio.

That said, I feel my DT 770 Pros are also plenty good enough for any bitrate music I've listened to (I typically only listen to up to 320 ). I also count fit, comfort, and durability as important factors, and there they outshine any Sennheisers I've tried.
