Headset Microphone suddenly stopped working but is shown as plugged in?

A week ago the Microphone of my Headset literally suddenly stopped working, it won't pick up my voice anymore. I tried reinstalling the Realtek Audio Drivers without any success. Tried replugging the microphone, muting + unmuting button on my mic and so on.

the same thing what i was have on other OS (xp) eror was because of dx (audio technology) nothing was work
error with device manager only reinstal of OS help thats why i go to win 7
can be other issue a motherboard bad parts ( quality) simply broken in production
high and low voltage is often explanation of computer going crazy
for you is just only your OS i have few ideas ( i was try them but was not working so i was reinstal )
1.reinstal dx
2.instal updates
3.rescan HDD from errors (at startup)
4. if nothing helps reinstal OS
Ps: if drivers was really solution its should work fine with reinstal
but you can remove drivers and install them again
try : driver cleaner and install drivers again
if not succes open them and check wires
because of my behavior and wire design they twirl
so often are broken i solder them and check wire damage
the same with microphone which is normal external microphone
thats all
