Hello buddy frenkinstein ^^

Well your choice is cool bro =D But if I may, give you some options to choose from at an affordable price. I wouldn't be able to tell you much about Turtle Beach - Ear Force Z2, since I haven't used it but in terms of clarity and style and choice, I will give you some options to choose from and these I bet are worth the money because I have used all of them :D

1. Razer Orca

razer-orca-main.jpg

Too often we are forced to choose between what’s comfortable and what looks good. Chances are if you want to avoid flashbang sized headaches, you are going to find your dome lodged in some pretty dumb looking cans because, let’s face it; style doesn’t always roll shotgun when comfort is at the wheel.

The Razer Orca is made to represent both. It keeps your style on lock while still giving you that 2pm Sunday morning pants optional type of comfort. Whether you are taunting your gaming opponent across the virtual battle fields or just tuning out on the subway with your music, the Razer Orca provides extended comfort while keeping your sound pristine and precise.

Price - $59.99

Featuring thick leatherette ear cushions that mold to the shape of your ears, and optimally positioned ear cups to boost sound isolation, you’ll only hear good vibrations at all times. With a flexible headband structure and lightweight frame, the Razer Electra was designed for long-lasting comfortable wear so you can stay plugged into the soundtrack of your life with no fatigue. Make communication easy just by swapping out your audio cable for one with a microphone.

Keep the rhythm going and fight on when you wear the Razer Electra, for gaming on the go.

are you serious... razer are style over content. the orca headset may look good but its flimsy at best the pair i had broke the first time they fell off the bench... a tiny bit of plastic about 5mm broke off and the earcup would nolonger stay attached to the frame.

the newer bulkier headgear are an improvement but there sound quality is very middle of the road. you can spend half the money and get the same sound and build quality. i guarentee withing 6 months all the headsets listed will have developed faults even if your meticulous in there care.
how?. the inline volume controls the mic housing and cable quality are all questionable.
yeah you will have the same issue with many other brands like logitech but really razer aint all that and you would be better served looking elsewhere for a quality headset.

I don't know I hadn't had any problems with mine and sound is decent enough according to the price. If you're a real gamer, most of them would go for a custom setup of speakers and not headset but they are usually handy and useful if you don't want to disturb anyone near you. I am more of a speaker guy and for Music, I love Sennheiser Headphones, I currently have this -

thanks for the responses. i should mention, i do have a speaker setup but i live with 4 other housemates so i try to stick to my headphones to avoid bothering them. I will look at the razers, but if its true that they are flimsy, do you have any other recommendations in their stead? also, i noticed none of the ones listed had a mic, do you prefer buying a separate mic?

No I am the owner of Razer =P How's that. Just kidding, well everyone has their own personal choices when it comes to headphones.

I myself at one time used Razer and to be honest it was okay for me, I would be lying if I said that sound quality is outstanding but to me personally, I believed that the price I paid for the headphones were justified, Sure they may be style over substance but their sound quality is in the middle and it's not that bad.

On the other hand, If you genuinely want good headphones at a decent price there are a lot of options available in the market, it all comes down to the user and the one who uses it.

I am genuinely sorry if my opinion sounded like I was supporting Razer and speaking in behalf of them, I am genuinely sorry about that. Hope you guys can forgive me -_-" *brofist*

And frenkinstein here are some decent headphones with mic & without mic, Personally I prefer a separate mic -

1. Sony MDR-XB500 40mm XB Diaphragm Driver Extra Bass Headphones

If you want mic with your headphone, I believe you should go with the last one. The Number 6. It has various color options along with a mic and it's only $47.50
