Headset with one cable to audio + mic jack

Got a Tritton Kunai headset. It connects via single 3.5mm cable. On the front and back panel of the PC the jacks come in pairs, one for audio and one for microphone.

Is it possible to configure via the audio settings for the audio jack to also accept the microphone? By default it does not detect.

If not, is there an adapter to split from 3.5mm (audio/mic) --> 2 x 3.5mm (audio + mic)? I only found the reverse, adapters for turning two cables into one.

Unfortunately there's no possible way to change settings for that to work. Here's a splitter i found on Amazon US

That is not a splitter, its a regular cable with a adapter
