Question Heat Efficiency and Lifespan with XMP Overclocking

Hi guys,

I'm just curious, does overclocking significantly decrease the heat efficiency for the cpu/motherboard/memory? What about the total lifespan of these components? I know the answer is probably no and I'm just being overly cautious since there are enough people that do it, but I'd like your guys' input regardless. I'd especially appreciate if you can point me towards some study or in-depth analysis of this topic. If you need a specific processor, currently I'm planning on using an i5 12600k, I am debating about switching to a Ryzen 5 7600 though.

Thanks!

If your airflow in the case is optimal and you're cooling the processor as well as not going beyond crazy overclocking goals, let alone pumping absurd power through the processor/memory, then no , there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

Sadly if you run off stock speeds, you won't get the most of your platform, regardless of Intel or AMD.
