Heating laptop issues

If I have a laptop with only 1 fan and a i7 4810 and a 870m will it be ok heating wise while gaming? Or while I need to have a cooling pad.... And will it be ok with a cooling pad?

If you use your laptop on a hard surface then you wont have any issues, it may get warm but it will not overheat (as long as it works as it should). If you are using it on your lap then make sure you dont cover the ventilation holes on the bottom or it will get hot. Cooling pads are useful if the ambient temp in the area is high but in other situations they are not necessary.

Some laptop have only two fan which only exhaust heat away from CPU and GPU itself. If you usually play in flat surface like in the table your laptop can't suck some fresh air I suggest to get cooling fan pad for your laptop and use it if you're playing and don't always overheat your laptop.

It only has one fan... So is shouldn't have an problem? Because you guys are contradicting yourself. It's an msi dominator 423...

Yeah MSI that brand is new to this gaming laptops. Its only exhausting the heat away from CPU but there is no intake fan to get fresh air so get a cooling pad when gaming. Gaming is not really meant to laptops 😛
