Heatsink doesn't fully touch the CPU

So you've already rotated the mounting bracket & cooler 90 degrees? Have you removed the cooler since? How does the thermal paste spread look now:?

How are you determining the problem? Just based on heat alone? Orientated the correct way, should meet the CPU properly.

Which CPU are you attempting to cool with it?

I haven't used the Rev2, but the original was barely better than an old stock cooler...

Yeah, that appears to be a solid spread.

80'C is ok, albeit on the toasty side. Not surprising with the heatsink.

I would run a stress test, see what your absolute max is.

you're probably ok with it.... I assume it'll still say in safe operating ranges.... just a little warmer than ideal.

Certainly no harm in picking up something better though.

I have the arctic freezer 7 pro rev 2 for $16 and the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 LED for $40

which one would you say is more worth it?
is there a big difference between the 7 pro and my current one? becuase its only less than 5 dollars more than my current heatsink.
was i really that stupid for buying this one in the first place?
